Solicitor Opportunity (0-3 Years PQE) – Commercial Road Transport (CRT) Team
I am seeking a solicitor with 0-3 years’ post qualification experience to join a fast-growing Commercial Road Transport (CRT) team. This sector-focused team advises businesses operating commercial vehicles—HGVs, coaches, and buses—on a wide range of issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide regulatory compliance advice and litigation defence (criminal and civil)
- Represent clients at Traffic Commissioner Public Inquiries, Driver Conduct Hearings, Magistrate Court Hearings, etc.
- Assist with Operator Licence applications and investigations by DVSA, Trading Standards, Police, Environment Agency, Border Force, and more
- Support licensing aspects of business restructures, acquisitions, and mergers
- Offer consultancy advice on compliance risk management systems and best practices
- Conduct transport compliance audits
- Assist in delivering client training on sector-specific topics
- Produce articles, blogs, and guidance for trade press
- Engage in business development opportunities, including industry events
- Field and convert potential new client enquiries
Desirable Skills and Experience:
- Regulatory transport experience (Traffic Commissioner Hearings or criminal defence work)
- Experience with HSE, EA, or Police regulatory cases
- Advocacy experience (criminal or civil)
- Strong presentational and writing skills
- Confidence to interact with clients at events
