Real Estate Solicitor

My client is a Lexcel accredited specialist property solicitors, based in South West London. Due to outstanding growth, they are looking for an experienced, confident and proactive Real Estate Solicitor to join their successful team. You will provide legal and practical advice and assistance to clients on a wide range of commercial and residential property matters.

Key responsibilities and duties

To provide high quality legal advice on a range of real estate matters primarily to the firms business or commercial clients. Core areas of work and experience to include:

• Residential development work acting for a range of small house builders on site acquisition and related planning matters and with a focus on “back garden” developments, option agreements and conditional contracts;
• Plot Sales acting for house builder clients;
• Commercial leases, acting primarily for tenants and small business owners;
• Commercial financing, acting primarily for a range of borrowers but also drafting security documents where required;
• Mix of some residential conveyancing for business / commercial / property investor clients;
• Mix of licences to alter, deeds of variation and general landlord and tenant matters;
• Potential for some exposure to Asset Purchase Acquisitions;
• To provide an excellent standard of “Client Care” and quality of service at all times;
• To proactively deliver accurate and up-to-date legal advice to clients that takes account of the commercial pressures on clients;
• Perform work accurately, reliably and in accordance with the company’s quality and risk procedures;
• To work as a team member;
• To meet profit cost targets and other agreed targets in areas such as the generation of new business;
• Keep up to date on all changes in the law and practice within the areas of work;
• To assist the firm in implementing its Business Plan; and
• To participate in the marketing of the firm.

Qualifications and skills required
 

• Broad range of experience in dealing with commercial and residential property matters as identified above.
• 3 years PQE+
• Ability to work with confidence, managing own caseload (with minimal supervision).
• Good computer literacy, including knowledge of case management systems.
• Ability to generate fee income to a set target based a multiple of their salary.
• Clear understanding of Money Laundering Regulations, Solicitors Account Rules and other regulatory obligations.
• Previous experience working in a Lexcel and CQS accredited firm desirable but not essential.
• Strong planning and organisational skills and an ability to prioritize workloads and meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to create and nurture relationships with key clients at all levels.
• Desire to provide a high quality service.
• High level of integrity.
• Commercial approach to the delivery of legal services.
• Client focused.
• Hardworking, proactive and positive attitude.

Salary will be £50k-£65k dependent on experience, with hybrid working options after probation is completed.
