My client is an award winning Legal 500 recommended full-service law firm with offices across Yorkshire. Their busy and well-regarded Commercial Litigation department is currently looking to recruit a 2-6 years PQE Property Litigation Solicitor to be based in their Leeds City centre office with occasional travel to other offices in the area.
Once settled into the role there is the opportunity for a degree of hybrid working.
You will be responsible for managing your own caseload of Property Litigation matters as well as assisting on more complex matters within the team.
Must have excellent communication and written skills, good time management skills with the ability to work to deadlines. A flair for building strong client relationships, coupled with strong commercial awareness, a track record of meeting billing targets with a methodical approach and high levels of accuracy.
You will be 2-6 years PQE working within property litigation, either from a purely property litigation background, or from commercial disputes background
Responsible for, but not limited to:
- Dealing with lease renewal / termination notices and proceedings under the LTA 1954
- Service of break notices and advice on their validity and break conditions
- Interpretation and enforcements of leases and dilapidations claims
- Arrears recovery and service charge disputes and general estate management issues
- Advising on tenant insolvency
- Forfeiture and obtaining possession of commercial property and residential tenancies
- Assisting the conveyancing department on residential long leasehold and Building Act matters
- Advice on restrictive covenant and easement disputes; and
- Drafting instructions to counsel and working alongside other members of the team on larger cases, including, dealing with disclosure, witness statements and trial bundles.
Salary will be competitive dependent on experience, working in a collaborative and flexible environment where success is rewarded and progression is realistic and achievable.
