Private Client Legal Secretary

Join a prestigious, multi-service law firm based in Hertfordshire, recognized for its award-winning legal advice and top-tier Legal 500 accreditation. They’re now seeking a Private Client Legal Secretary to join their highly regarded Private Client team.
Providing exceptional secretarial and administration support to at least two lawyers, their Private Client team is one of the largest and most experienced in Hertfordshire, boasting four partners, senior associates, solicitors, and legal assistants. They’re ranked Tier 1 in Legal 500 and Band 1 in Chambers HNW.
Key responsibilities of the role will include:
- Handling client enquiries and manage appointments when lawyers are unavailable
- Opening and closing client files, including money laundering checks and risk management tasks
- Maintaining diaries, scheduling meetings, and handling internal and external communication
- Assisting with document management, including typing, drafting standard letters, and processing deeds
- Liaising with the accounts team to ensure accurate financial administration
- Updating client details in relevant case management systems
- Performing general administrative duties like photocopying, archiving, and organizing office space
- Providing support with IT and office equipment, ensuring any issues are reported
- Collaborating with the team, providing secretarial and phone cover when needed
- Following firm policies and procedures, ensuring high standards of client service
The successful Legal Secretary will have previous legal secretarial experience, strong client service and communication skills, fast and accurate typing (50 wpm minimum, and excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
