Private Client Fee Earner / Solicitor

We are assisting a well known Cheshire based law firm in their search for an experienced Solicitor or qualified Legal Executive to join their Private Client team based in Macclesfield.

Reporting to the Head of Department, you will provide professional and efficient legal services, focusing on Wills, Powers of Attorney, estate administration, and inheritance tax matters. You will also manage a caseload independently, contribute to business development, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Handling a personal caseload with minimal supervision, ensuring timely and accurate work.
  • Attending to clients, taking instructions, and advising on appropriate legal actions.
  • Contributing to business development and marketing initiatives.
  • Maintaining accurate records, meet billing deadlines, and adhere to internal matter management protocols.
  • Staying updated on legal developments and meeting continuing professional development (CPD) requirements.
  • Supporting and nurturing team members’ professional growth.

Requirements

  • Qualified Solicitor/Legal Executive with 2 years + PQE (or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in drafting Wills, managing estates, and handling Court of Protection applications.
  • Sound technical knowledge of legal processes, inheritance tax, and compliance requirements.
  • Familiarity with case management systems (ideally Proclaim).
  • Strong communication, organizational, and self-management skills.
