A highly regarded firm of solicitors, with offices in South West London, Middlesex, and Surrey, is seeking a Senior Finance Family Associate. The position involves managing a diverse caseload of private family law matters, including divorce, financial remedies, and private law children cases. It also includes providing private mediation services to help clients achieve amicable resolutions.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Handle a variety of family law cases, with a focus on divorce, civil partnership dissolution, and financial matters.
  • Deliver mediation services to facilitate out-of-court settlements.
  • Maintain accurate and well-organized case files.

Client Care:

  • Provide expert legal advice and representation, ensuring exceptional client service.
  • Maintain confidentiality while managing client expectations and keeping them informed throughout the process.

Mediation:

  • Conduct mediation sessions to resolve disputes related to divorce, finances, and child arrangements.
  • Prepare mediation agreements in compliance with legal standards.

Business Development:

  • Engage in business development activities to attract new clients.
  • Build professional networks and contribute to marketing efforts through blogging and attending industry events.

Compliance:

  • Adhere to all legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Follow internal policies and procedures, including risk management and quality control.

The successful Senior Finance Family Associate will have:

  • A minimum of 5 years PQE in family law as a qualified solicitor.
  • Proven experience handling private family law matters.
  • Qualification as an all-issues family mediator.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in legal case management software.

Desirable Attributes:

  • FMC Accreditation as a mediator.
  • Experience working under LEXCEL or an equivalent practice management framework.
  • A strong commitment to ongoing professional development.
