Duty Solicitor

We are currently looking for an experienced Head of Crime and/or Criminal Solicitor to join a dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity for a committed solicitor with a passion for criminal law, whether you’re an established professional or a newly qualified solicitor with ambition to develop your career.

Head of Crime:
You will be responsible for running a busy criminal department and leading the team. This includes supervising and training less experienced solicitors, ensuring adherence to Legal Aid Agency (LAA) requirements, and providing strategic leadership to help grow the practice. You will need to be duty solicitor qualified or police station accredited, and ideally looking to progress towards a partnership.

  • Proven experience managing a criminal law department.
  • Duty Solicitor qualified or Police Station Accredited.
  • In-depth knowledge of LAA requirements.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and business development skills.
  • Ambition to progress to partnership.

Criminal Solicitor:
At least 1-year PQE is preferred, but we are also open to considering newly qualified solicitors with a passion for criminal law. You will be responsible for managing a range of criminal cases from initial instruction through to file closure, ensuring that all files meet Lexcel and Law Society standards.

  • At least 1-year PQE, or newly qualified.
  • Completed the Legal Practice Course.
  • A Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England & Wales.
  • Current Practicing Certificate.
  • Duty Solicitor qualified or Police Station Accredited.
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
