The Role

As a Criminal Defence Solicitor/Legal Executive, you’ll be at the heart of our criminal law practice. Your caseload will involve managing and representing clients in criminal defence matters, from police stations to magistrates’ courts, ensuring each case receives the highest level of care and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle your own caseload of criminal defence work, including attending Police Stations and Magistrates’ Court.
  • Participate in an out-of-hours rota for Police Station attendance.
  • Develop and nurture local and regional networks to bring in new business and build long-term relationships.

Role-Specific Requirements:

  • A current practising certificate from the SRA or CILEx.
  • Ability to run and manage your own caseload autonomously.
  • Strong advocacy skills and a willingness to conduct your own hearings.
  • Excellent client care skills, with the ability to offer professional and empathetic advice.
  • Ability to meet financial targets and work under pressure with tight deadlines.
  • Ability to build and maintain a client base and market the firm effectively.
  • If not already accredited, willingness to become Duty Qualified.
