Crime - Paralegal

Our client is a well-established firm in Peterborough, known for its extensive experience in providing advice, defence, prosecution, and representation in a wide range of legal matters. Their Crime & Defence Team is the largest in the area, and they are proud to have a Community Legal Aid Agency contract that allows us to offer publicly funded legal assistance in criminal matters.

They specialise in a variety of legal areas, including Business Defence, Motoring Offences, Police Station Representation, Mental Health Representation, and Court Representation. Their team has built a strong reputation for delivering effective, client-focused legal solutions and for successfully defending clients across a broad spectrum of cases.

About the Role:
We are seeking a Paralegal to join this dynamic Crime & Defence Team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual to gain experience and develop within a busy legal practice. The role will involve assisting in a range of criminal and commercial defence cases, including fraud, corporate manslaughter, motoring offences, and mental health cases.

What we are looking for:

• A strong interest in criminal law and business defence work.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills, with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• A proactive approach to learning and professional development.
• Previous experience as a Paralegal or Legal Assistant is preferred but not essential.
• A keen interest in representing clients in court, tribunals, and police stations.
• A passion for delivering high-quality legal services.
