Although a Solicitor with demonstrable experience on CoP work is preferred, the firm is aware that this is a growing area of law, and they’re happy to consider candidates from other areas of legal practice including Personal Injury/Private Client law.  For candidates from within Personal Injury, there must be demonstrable experience from within high value work including brain injury cases or clinical negligence cases, and those who have lost capacity. The firm will train you to full external accreditation into a full COP Solicitor role.

As a key member of the team, you will:

Oversee all aspects of Professional Deputyship cases, from initial application to ongoing administration.
Prepare and submit deputyship, trustee, and interim/urgent applications to the Court of Protection.
Provide expert guidance to union clients through the firm’s free legal advice service.
Work closely with case managers, carers, clients, and families to achieve the best possible outcomes.
