They’re currently seeking a Costs Negotiator to join their growing national team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with solid experience in costs negotiations and legal procedures who is looking to make a real impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and negotiate legal costs to ensure clients achieve the best possible outcomes.
- Handle detailed assessments, provide expert advice, and liaise with clients and case handlers.
- Draft Replies to Points of Dispute, interlocutory applications, and instruct advocates as necessary.
- Represent clients in court when required and as agreed.
- Engage in proactive negotiations with opponents, aiming to secure optimal settlements.
- Prepare and submit documents for proceedings, and provide ongoing client guidance throughout the costs recovery process.
About You:
- Experience: At least 2 years’ experience as a Costs Negotiator, Costs Lawyer, or in a similar role, ideally with a background in either an in-house team or with an external supplier of costs drafting services.
- Skills: Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills. A solid understanding of the relevant case law related to costs is essential.
- Qualifications (Desirable): Financial or legal qualifications such as ILEX Part 1 or a law degree are beneficial but not essential.
