Contentious Trusts & Probate Associate Solicitor (4 years+ PQE)

We are seeking a passionate Contentious Trusts and Probate Specialist to join Hertfordshire’s leading Wills, Trusts, and Probate team. As part of one of the region’s largest and most experienced teams, ranked top in both Legal 500 and Chambers HNW, you will play a key role in helping high-profile clients and driving the team forward. The tam includes four partners, senior associates, solicitors, and legal assistants. They serve a wide range of clients, including wealthy individuals from London and beyond, with expertise in lifetime planning, wealth management, and trust services.

Responsibilities:

• Advise on contentious trust and probate matters, including:
  • Removing executors/trustees
  • Defending claims by beneficiaries
  • Challenging Wills or Trusts
  • Inheritance Act claims
  • Court of Protection and Power of Attorney disputes
• Build strong relationships with clients, referrers, and colleagues
• Supervise junior staff
• Engage in marketing and business development

Requirements:

• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in contentious probate
• Strong knowledge of contested trust and probate practices
• Excellent communication and client relationship skills
• IT proficiency, ideally with case management systems
• Enthusiasm for developing this area of work
• ACTAPS or SFE accreditation preferred
