Exciting Opportunity for a Paralegal in Cycling Accident Claims – Manchester

My Client is  looking for a skilled and motivated Paralegal to join a rapidly growing Cycling Accidents team within a renowned Personal Injury department.

This role offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced fee earners, managing your own caseload of 50-75 Portal cycling accident files, while also assisting with more complex, non-Portal cases.

You will have the opportunity to develop your legal skills with a high level of autonomy, under the guidance of senior fee earners. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly regarded Legal 500 Tier 1 Personal Injury team that is dedicated to securing compensation for cyclists who have suffered complex injuries in accidents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Running your own caseload of Portal cycling accident claims, including RTA and Public Liability cases
  • Preparing and submitting CNFs/letters of claim
  • Instructing engineers to assess bike damage
  • Collecting and reviewing documents and evidence related to general and special damages
  • Drafting witness statements and Schedules of Loss
  • Preparing instructions to medical experts and counsel
  • Drafting court documents and reviewing medical records and reports
  • Researching case law on liability and quantum
  • Preparing advice on liability, causation, and quantum
  • Liaising with clients to keep them updated on case progress
  • Handling billing and disbursement payments
  • Managing cases through different stages of the MOJ Portal process, including Stage 3 and infant approval hearings

About You: To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • At least 12 months’ experience handling Claimant MOJ Portal personal injury files (ideally with a focus on cycling accidents)
  • A good understanding of CPR and Portal rules
  • Experience in conducting investigations and assessing the prospects of success for claims
  • Familiarity with preparing and issuing cases at various stages of the Portal process
  • Ability to transfer cases off the Portal to fee earners for further work
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to work independently
  • A focus on providing exceptional client service with empathy

Experience with the Proclaim Case Management System is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided.
