Criminal Defence Solicitor/Legal Executive

The Role: They are looking for an enthusiastic Criminal Defence Solicitor/Legal Executive to join their dynamic team. In this role, you will manage and develop a caseload of criminal law matters, ensuring high-quality representation for clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Handle a caseload of criminal defence work, including representation at the Police Station and Magistrates’ Court.
• Participate in the out-of-hours rota for Police Station attendance.
• Develop and maintain local and regional networks to attract and secure new business opportunities.

Role-Specific Requirements:

• A current practising certificate from the SRA or CILEx.
• Ability to run your own caseload and work autonomously.
• Advocacy skills with the ability and willingness to conduct your own advocacy.
• Strong marketing skills and ability to build and grow your caseload.
• Procedural and technical competence in criminal defence work.
• Commitment to meeting financial targets and working under pressure to short deadlines.
• Excellent client care skills with a professional and empathetic approach.
• Willingness to become Duty Qualified if not already accredited.
