About Us:We are a reputable and well-established law firm located in the heart of Liverpool. Our firm is known for its commitment to excellence and providing high-quality legal services. We are now seeking a detail-oriented Compliance Officer to join our team and ensure adherence to all legal regulations, maintaining a high standard of operational integrity.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies and procedures in line with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor changes in laws and regulations, ensuring the firm remains up to date and compliant with all statutory obligations.
  • Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to identify areas of non-compliance and recommend improvements.
  • Advise the firm’s leadership on compliance issues, ensuring awareness of risks and the steps needed to mitigate them.
  • Oversee internal reporting systems, ensuring that incidents are properly logged, investigated, and resolved.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies, such as the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA), and maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes.
  • Deliver training sessions to staff, ensuring that compliance requirements are understood and followed across all departments.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience working in compliance, preferably within a law firm or legal setting.
  • Strong knowledge of the UK legal system, particularly in relation to compliance and regulatory frameworks (e.g., SRA regulations).
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex compliance issues clearly to all levels of staff.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills and the ability to identify potential risks.
  • A proactive, problem-solving attitude, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with anti-money laundering (AML) regulations and GDPR compliance.
  • Familiarity with case management systems and compliance software.
  • Legal qualifications or certifications in compliance would be an advantage.
